2 Weeks and 4 lbs
Noah is continuing to do exceptionally well. He is increasing his food intake volume well and steady. He is doing a wonderful job of learning and practicing breastfeeding. It seems he has the know how down, he just needs the strength and development to do it. That day will be here very soon.
Matt and I have been taking him out of his little ark now ourselves. At first we were not comfortable doing this since the quarters are tight and Noah has monitor wires on him that we didn't want to get hung up on him or something else. It feels nice to be able to "handle" him. The next step i want to get comfortable with will be holding him while getting him back into the ark and swaddled with 1 arm. Tricky.
I am sticking to the schedule of 2 back to back mid day visits and 1 daddy and mommy "date night" visit in the evening.
This works out to give me a little bit of rest at home and time with Olivia in the day and soma alone time with Matt in the evening. We are a tightly scheduled machine around here. But it is working wonderfully to serve our needs.
I am now giving myself a 3-5 hour time frame of sleep at night. So needed and so exciting, while it lasts.
We are enjoying bath nights with Noah which are every 3 days. It is nice to get some hands on refresher practice with assistance before we bring him home.
Noah is growing!
Mama:
I am doing very well. All
the amazing support from Jehovah, Matt, friends and family continue to empower me to be able to focus on taking care of myself and Noah so he can come home.
This quote sums it up:
Parents who feel powerful, feel secure. And children
feel secure when their parents feel secure.
