Decided to swap the shower for 45 min of shut eye. Sorry Matt! Woke up to go see Mr Noah, and get in on his diaper change, temperature check and feeding at 8:30. I walked on over, slowy, as I can tell now that my slight anemia is making me a little more easily fatigued. Matt helps me over and I change his little poopy butt, and I had gotten a little tired from doing that since I had to bend over a little and keep my arms up for 5 min or so. Crazy how that felt tiring So Matt takes over with the temp check as I get into position to hold and "feed" Noah. . I sit with a friend as he wakes up a little and gets to practice feeding. He is in training but catching on so well! I am so proud of him. He latches on quite a few times over the next hour or more. Time flies when you have a baby in our arms. Then I bring him up and just have him lay on my chest. He doesn't fuss much at all and just snuggles in as I can now kiss his little head. He hangs out on me another 45 min or so while I chat away and relax with Noah. Ahh, so nice.
Bragging rights: The nurses say Noah is the star of the nursery right now since he is breaking the reputation for premie white boys. Word is that they tend to fare the "worst" in the NICU. But Noah is breaking the trend. Go white boy, go! But then he is not ALL white. Apparently, he has some of the "Rocky" gene in him. Evidence from him very dark, almost black curly hair at birth. What a fighter. Anyway, the nurses comments made me proud and happy to hear.
I am pooped after my trek back to the room. I pump, and get to bed about 11. Up at midnight for vitals and med. Then off to sleep til 4! Whoohoo!
